PROMOTING TEEN FRIENDLIER ORGANIZATIONS

In a study done in 1997, the Resource Center for Youth and Family Development found that services for teens are often ineffective in communicating with teens. This demonstrated to the Resource Center for Youth and Family Development a glaring need to improve the quality of teen services. It also pointed to an even larger issue. The impact on the entire community when teens are not prepared to enter the adult world is clear and obvious. It is likewise clear and obvious that services and programs intended to assist teens with that transition are not necessarily comfortable and effective in their role. The Coalition for Youth Empowerment intends to address these issues by helping to bring teens and adults together in a collaborative effort that will benefit the community as a whole.
